SAP Integration Using Microsoft Technologies
Summary
Today companies must strive to get to a single version of the truth to accurately, legally and effectively manage their business. The cost and business impact makes managing multiple systems for tracking similar information impractical. To solve this problem, more and more companies are looking to leverage their existing investments made in the Microsoft and SAP platforms. The decisions facing many of these companies involves whether to use the software licenses they already own, have deployed and their users are familiar with, against purchasing new licenses that will require new deployments and training.
Solution Overview
The MPS Partners SAP Integration Accelerator is a set of building blocks and methodologies that provide rapid architecture, design and integration of Microsoft Office, the Microsoft .NET Platform and the Microsoft Application Platform (BizTalk/SQL Server) with SAP.
The MPS Partners SAP Integration Accelerator allows companies to quickly deploy functioning applications in weeks (rather than months) that integrate in real-time with all versions of SAP. The approach for delivering these applications involves the following four phases:
- Assessment
- Scenario Definition
- Architecture Design
- Proof of Concept
MPS Partners SAP Integration Accelerator Delivery Approach
Assessment Phase
During the Assessment phase, we review existing and future server products that will be deployed while focusing on the following key areas: network operating systems, database platforms, data access, authentication, networking infrastructure, portal architecture, forms tools and dashboarding and scorecarding tools.
Scenario Definition Phase
During the Scenario Definition phase, we review specific details surrounding the core SAP business scenario that is being modeled. This phase focuses on the following key areas: workflow, business process definition, business logic, business process modeling and deployment and outlines the requirements for a Proof of Concept (POC)
phase.
Architecture Design Phase
The Architecture Design phase takes the outputs from the Assessment and Business Scenario phases and builds a specific technology integration plan. It focuses on business and application logic, technology integration, security, user access and control.
Proof of Concept Phase
In the Proof of Concept phase, we build and deploy a pilot solution that delivers the technology and business application documented in the Architecture Design phase.
