SharePoint Application Architect

Responsible to: Principal Architect

Job Purpose:

MPS PARTNERS is looking for an Senior Technologist that will play a critical role in developing and delivering innovative Collaboration and Workflow solutions utilizing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0), SharePoint Designer 2007 and various other .NET components. The SharePoint Architect will oversee and participate in the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of enterprise solutions involving Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and Business Intelligence.

Job Requirements:

SharePoint Architects should possess a minimum of 4-7+ years in Microsoft.NET development with a minimum of 3+ years of SharePoint technical lead and architecture experience on corporate initiatives. Must possess detailed knowledge of business workflows and have an in depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, and SharePoint Designer 2007.

In depth experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and/or Business Intelligence is required. Ability to evaluate, select and articulate product strategies between MOSS 2007, WSS 3.0 and Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007. Experience with Microsoft Office InfoPath Forms Services is highly preferred, as is experience with SharePoint Templates (Application Templates, Master Pages, Role-Based Templates, and the Community Kit for SharePoint).

SharePoint knowledge should include architectural design, Web Parts development, server installation, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations. Development experience with Microsoft.NET technologies is also expected (e.g. ASP.NET 2.0/3.0, C#, XML, IIS, BizTalk Server, SQL Server, etc.).

Salary & Contract Terms:

Full Time Employee. Competitive salary based on professional experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the architects and project management to deliver superior solutions for our customers
  • Participate in architecture & design sessions with architects and clients Work with our infrastructure partners to help define MOSS deployment strategy
  • Work with project team to gather appropriate requirements
  • Develop and document solution design
  • Design and implement complex data models
  • Develop SharePoint solutions using the appropriate tools
  • Develop human based workflow processes
  • Execute and document unit tests for all developed work
  • Assist in all aspects of solution testing and testing documentation
  • Complete tasks to specification and within appropriate timeframes

Associate Experience:

Associate should bring unique problem solving and analytical skills. Associate should be a Microsoft Certified Professional and show a desire to remain current with both industry and Microsoft technologies and standards.

Associate Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience implementing and administering Microsoft SharePoint 2003 Portal Server.
  • Demonstrated experience developing .NET (v 1.0 / v2.0) applications using C# or VB.NET for Web (ASP.NET) or Windows.
